1. School Placement Exercise for Returning Singaporeans – Secondary (SPERS-Sec)
(Returning Singaporeans are encouraged to take this option)
SPERS-Year is a centralised posting exercise conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE) at the end of the year for Returning Singaporeans who wish to join schools at Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 at the beginning of the next academic year.
As secondary school admission is merit-based, returning Singaporeans who wish to participate in SPERS-Year will be required to sit for SPERS-Year papers comprising Maths and English. Based on their performance in the SPERS-Year papers, candidates would each be provided with a list of eligible secondary schools where pupils with similar abilities are already studying in. Candidates can opt for any six schools in their lists, and MOE would then post them into secondary schools based on their performance in the SPERS-Year papers, their school choices, and available vacancies.
Please visit MOE website for more information on the application procedure for the School Placement Exercise for Returning Singaporeans – Secondary (SPERS-Sec)
2. Sitting for RGS Entrance Tests (for admission to Year 1 & 3 only)
Returning Singaporeans opting to sit for the RGS entrance tests will have to take the English, Math & Science papers, as well as a General Ability Test. Shortlisted applicants will then be required to come for an interview. Admission to RGS will be based on the results of the entrance tests and the performance at the interview.
