DSA JC at RI

Applications for DSA-JC to RI will open on Friday, 7 May 2010.

Students who are currently in Secondary Four (or the equivalent) are invited to apply for admission into JC1 (Year 5 of Raffles Programme) at RI in 2011 via the Direct School Admission (DSA) Exercise.

RI offers the Raffles Programme (RP) - a forward-looking, differentiated and learner-centred curriculum designed to meet the learning needs of bright and talented students. At RI, students have the space and the conducive environment to explore, ask questions, discover themselves and develop to their fullest potential.

The RP sets the context for students to realise their talents and gifts in an environment that celebrates scholarship and self-actualisation, while developing a sense of citizenship and stewardship.  The goal is to develop the educated person who contributes to the betterment of society.

If you have special talents and abilities and are passionate about learning, you will find studying at RI a rich and exciting experience.

  • Why RI?

The Direct School Admission Exercise (DSA) aims to promote holistic education by giving participating schools greater flexibility in selecting students while holding to the key principles of transparency and meritocracy.

DSA provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate a more diverse range of student achievements and talents in seeking admission at the pre-university level. Students who show exceptional talents in the areas of sports, performance arts or excelled in Science and Mathematics Olympiads or research are invited to apply to Raffles Institution through the DSA scheme.

Once a student has accepted the DSA offer he/she will not take part in the Joint Admission Exercise. The student is assured of a place in the school, as long as his/her 'O' level results satisfy the requirement for entry to junior colleges.

Selection criteria for DSA applicants are based on the applicant’s CCA records, and the criteria set by Junior College for the various co-curricular activities.

Application for DSA 2010 will commence in May 2010. Click here to apply!
