1.

Are there financial aid programmes available to students who cannot afford the fees at RGS or RI?

Admission to the Raffles Schools is based on merit. No deserving student who qualifies for the Raffles Schools will be denied admission because of financial difficulties. Students who are in need may apply for financial assistance programmes. An example of financial assistance programmes available to local students is the Independent Schools Bursary Scheme (ISB).

2.

Will I be disadvantaged if I am in financial need when I am offered a place under DSA?

No student will be disadvantaged if he or she needs financial assistance when admitted into the Raffles Programme. There are a number of financial scholarships in place to assist all able students who are in need of financial assistance when they qualify to study in the Raffles family of schools.

3.

What is the tenure of the EESIS (Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools)?

All Singaporean students who are admitted to the Raffles Programme and who are within the top 3% of the independent school’s enrolment will continue to be awarded the EESIS. The tenure of the scholarship is 6 years, which means that it is valid for the entire duration of the Raffles Programme. The scholarship covers part of the school fees (minus the miscellaneous fees which are also payable by students in other secondary schools). Admission under the DSA does not automatically constitute the grant of the EESIS as this is awarded by MOE and based on the PSLE performance of the students. The school fees paid by students awarded both the EESIS and ISB may be as low as $13 per month.
